This year’s first draw for expressions of Interest (EOI) for the group of Skilled Migrant took place. The draw was done on January 13, 2010 picked up a total figure of 593 Expressions of Interest. Now that the selection of the EOI is ended, the selected applications would be processed for first round check. The verification will decide if the applicants would be issued with an invitation to submit an application for New Zealand residency.
Below are a few things to see of the draw taken place on January 13, 2010:
1. A total figure of 483 Expressions of Interest, with overall points of 140 or more being chosen this time.
2. An overall number of 110 Expressions of Interest, with total points of 100 or over, (however, below 140) being chosen.
3. Out of the 593 submissions, a total figure of 521 Expressions of Interest were from those who have New Zealand job offers.
The opening Expressions of Interest draw of 2010 under the abovementioned category brought dissatisfaction to a lot of applicants who wished to immigrate to New Zealand (NZ). An overall of 631 Expressions of Interest were not chosen. These EOIs remain in the pool, for the applicants may have met the general requirements desirable to immigrate to New Zealand, but they could not persuade the criteria set for the Expressions of Interest pool selection.
At the moment, these applications will be in the pool for 3 months and may be selected in one more draw in the near future. On the other hand, if the EOIs are not selected after 3 months, the applicants may need to submit Expressions of Interest again.
